Weld Inserts
C-22® weld insert rings are used for additional alloying when orbital or manual welding AL-6XN® in the field. For most AL-6XN piping systems, the process of post-weld annealing is not feasible. In order to improve corrosion resistance of these welds the practice of adding an alloy filler is required. The ring must have a higher molybdenum content than the AL-6XN alloy to compensate for alloys dilution on cooling.
CSI stocks a large selection of AL-6XN tubing and fittings for applications that require greater corrosion resistance than 316L.
CSI provides a comprehensive line of butt weld and Tri-Clamp components in AL-6XN® in sizes ½ – 4 inch, as well as made-to-order fittings. AL-6XN can be used interchangeably with other alloys such as 254 SMO®, 926, 904L, and duplex (2205 and 2507).
