Pre-Sure™ Cap

The Pre-Sure™ Cap is a reliable notification device designed to alert operators to system pressure. This safety cap is a direct replacement for a standard cap and seal. It lets plant operators quickly determine whether a line is pressurized, ensuring safety before removing or changing connections. When the pressure reaches or exceeds 5 PSI, the bright red indicator extends, visually signaling that unclamping or modifying panel connections is unsafe.

Crafted with a high-quality Class VI silicone diaphragm and a 316L stainless steel retainer, both components are fully traceable for compliance and safety assurance.

  • Stainless steel conforms to ASTM A240 M-316L.

  • The silicone diaphragm meets USP 87 and USP 88 Class VI standards for biocompatibility.

These standards ensure suitability for food and pharmaceutical applications. Available in 2-inch Tri-Clamp® connections, the device is easy to maintain with a replaceable diaphragm and requires no tools for retainer removal.

Pictured: A CSI transfer panel with a Pre-Sure™ Cap mounted. The cap provides a clear visual indicator to operators about the pressure status within the system. This aids in both safety and efficiency during transfer operations by preventing accidental disconnections under pressure.

Pictured: A CSI Pre-Sure™ Cap attached to a valve array. Valve arrays, clusters, or manifolds are constantly processing fluids at high pressures. The cap indicates whether the manifolds are still at pressure, ensuring safety at common maintenance access points.
Pictured: A CSI Pre-Sure™ Cap with the red indicator extended. The cap features a visible pressure indicator that extends when pressure in the line exceeds 5 psi, signaling to operators that it is unsafe to open the line or connections without first relieving the pressure. Once the pressure drops below 5 psi, the indicator retracts, providing a clear visual cue to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Pictured: A CSI Pre-Sure™ Cap attached to the drainage outlet of a CIP system. During CIP operations, caustic and acidic cleaning chemicals run through a system at high temperatures and pressures. The cap will indicate when CIP systems are operating, preventing accidental disconnections at the outlet and ensuring safe operation.

Working Principle
  • Indicator extends as pressure exceeds 5 PSI (0.34 bar), indicating fluid in pipe
  • Second indication at 12 PSI, indicating pressure in the pipe
  • In closed position, the button hygienically seals the opening through the cap
  • Max of 200 PSI (13.7 bar)
  • Max Temperature 275°F (135°C)
  • Indicator retracts when pressure drops
  • Indicator remains sealed in both open and closed positions
Benefits
  • Safe and easy removal of cap feature incorporated
  • Easy clean and replacement diaphragm design
  • Fail-safe design
  • Red color for clarity
  • Silicone material provides chemical resistance
  • 30,000 cycles (or 6 months) before diaphragm replacement
  • Anti-pressure surge (water hammer) protection design
