What CSI Does
CSI partners with processors, mechanical contractors, OEMs, and resellers to engineer, supply, fabricate, install, maintain, and optimize hygienic process systems that keep production moving. Our work spans everything from replacement sanitary components and spare parts to custom process skids, clean-in-place (CIP) systems, installation, commissioning, field service support, and engineered liquid cooling systems for data center applications.
Hygienic Process Equipment Distribution
CSI distributes a comprehensive range of sanitary processing equipment, components, and installation materials used in hygienic manufacturing environments. Product categories include pumps, valves, homogenizers, tubing, fittings, hangers, instrumentation, filters and strainers, heat exchangers, cleaning systems, spare parts, and corrosion-resistant alloys. By combining broad inventory support with technical product knowledge, CSI helps customers source the right equipment for routine maintenance, plant expansions, and complete process system upgrades.
Custom Process Systems and Fabrication
CSI also designs and builds custom hygienic process systems for customers who need more than off-the-shelf equipment. Depending on the application, this can include clean-in-place (CIP) systems, process skids, valve manifolds, transfer panels, utility stations, and other fabricated assemblies designed around plant requirements. Our engineering, fabrication, and project support teams work together to help customers solve process challenges, improve cleanability, and build systems that support long-term performance.
Installation, Commissioning, and Service
Beyond equipment supply and fabrication, CSI provides installation, commissioning, and ongoing service support for hygienic processing facilities. This includes field installation, startup assistance, preventative maintenance, pump repair, tank cleaning equipment service, and troubleshooting support. The goal is not only to deliver equipment, but to help customers keep systems operating reliably over time.

Our History
Central States Industrial Equipment and Service, Inc. was founded on July 1, 1977, by Jim and Shirley Cook in Jefferson City, Missouri. From the beginning, the company focused on quality, customer service, and solving real processing challenges for customers in hygienic industries.
In 1984, CSI relocated to Springfield, Missouri, where the company continued to grow its team, capabilities, and customer base. Over time, CSI expanded from a sanitary equipment distributor into a broader process partner with capabilities in engineering, design, fabrication, installation, and service. That growth has included additional distribution locations, expanded service capabilities, and continued investment in hygienic process systems and technical support.
Today, CSI supports customers nationwide with a combination of product expertise, fabrication capabilities, field service, and long-standing industry relationships.
