    Mark Cook has been part of Central States Industrial since its inception in 1977, and he has officially worked at CSI since 1984, the year CSI moved to Springfield, Missouri. He has been Inventory Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager, President, and CEO during his time at CSI. Before working at CSI, he attended Missouri State University and worked for Dairy Farmers of America and Alfa Laval, where he gained valuable experience in the dairy and food industries.

    He said, “I enjoy my job due to unlimited opportunities and the great people who make up CSI.”

    Joe Reynolds is a certified public accountant (CPA) who served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Central States Industrial for fifteen years. In 2015, Joe became CSI’s President. In his free time, he serves as a Board Member for City Utilities of Springfield and the Springfield Business Development Corporation.    

    “Joe and I share the same goals and vision for CSI,” said CEO Mark Cook. “Our focus is to increase customer satisfaction, maintain high employee morale, and achieve excellent financial results.”

    Bryan Billmyer, Vice President of Operations, joined Central States Industrial in 1995 as a Drafting Intern. He received his degree in Mechanical Design Technology with an emphasis in metals from Missouri State University. Three of Bryan's designs have been been issued US Patents. 

    He has held memberships in many organizations including: American Drafting and Design Association (ADDA), International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE), Society of Piping Engineers and Designers (SPED), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), The Association for Operations Management (APICS), and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), specifically the Bio-Processing Equipment (BPE) Standards Committee. Bryan is currently the Chair of the Dimensions and Tolerances (DT) sub-committee, a member of Systems Design (SD) and Vice Chair of the Certification (CR) sub-committees. 

    Bryan said he enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. His personal hobbies include being an enthusiastic Earnhardt Jr. NASCAR racing fan, a casual golfer, and an apprentice woodworker.

    Michele Holt has been Director of Finance for CSI since 2016. Before joining CSI, she spent 14 years as the Controller for Johnston Companies, an industrial supply distributor. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University in 1992 and has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1994.        

    “I like the work atmosphere at CSI.  It’s a larger company, yet everyone knows how to work together as a team,” she said.          

    Michele enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.  She grew up on a farm near Springfield and still enjoys Sunday 4-wheeler rides, gardening and spending time outdoors.

She also held positions as Fabrication Coordinator, Field Coordinator, Training Manager, HR Manager, Customer Service Manager, Vice President of Support Systems, and most recently, Executive Strategist.

    Brendon has spent over 20 years in professional B2B sales. Before that, he was a professional DJ and ice cream truck driver.     Natalee Kauffman, Manager - Inside Sales, works with a world-class team specializing in sanitary solutions. She received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Truman State University and went on to help provide stainless steel components, engineered systems, and installation services for liquid processes in the growing markets of food, dairy, beverage, personal care, and pharmaceutical processing. Natalee was in Customer Service for two years before she transitioned to a leading role in Inside Sales. She played an essential role in building the new department from the ground up.

    Adam Bruhn has been a Business Development Leader since 2015. He attended Texas Christian University, University of North Texas, and University of Texas at Arlington. He is President of the ISPE South Central Chapter and a member of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild and Master Brewers Association of Americas (MBAA).

    Jason Burks has been a Business Development Leader since 2017. He has worked in a variety of fields that have allowed him to recognize how to best serve a customer, regardless of the product or service being discussed. “I see this as a positive, because it means that my craft has grown disproportionately to my years of experience in any industry,” he said.

    Jason is married, with three kids. He’s the oldest of fourteen and plays classical piano and violin. He also enjoys writing science fiction, general prose, and poetry.

    Curtis Elkins is a Business Development Leader servicing the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. He began working at CSI in 1997. He has extensive industry experience in high purity process equipment and components. Curtis works with existing clients and develops new relationships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies to solve process challenges through innovative process system designs. Curtis has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Central Missouri. He is a member of Midwest ISPE and serves on ASME-BPE Materials Joining and Surface Finish subcommittees. His curiosity constantly drives him to learn more.

    Ian Gehris has been a Business Development Leader since 2017. Before that, he worked in Customer Service for five years. He attended Evangel University, and after graduation he became CSI’s heat exchanger specialist. He is also very knowledgeable about CSI’s Service and Repair program. Fun fact: he owns a small permaculture farm.

    Eric Gore has worked at CSI since 1998. He graduated from Missouri State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Design and Drafting. After graduation, he worked as a Senior Designer/Estimator at CSI and then transitioned into a sales role in 2008. Eric became a Business Development Leader in 2011, and currently spends his time servicing CSI’s national accounts.

    Eric has worked in many different roles throughout the years, so his industry experience is as expansive as it is comprehensive. He excels in detailed technical and engineering tasks and enjoys connecting with new people over industry commonalities Eric said he likes that he is “more than just a number” at CSI.

    Ilana Goldberg has extensive international experience. She grew up in Brazil and attended college at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. She went on to earn her Marketing and General Business certification from the University of California, Los Angeles.  She received her MBA in Logistics/Supply Chain and Marketing from Missouri State University.

    She started at CSI in 2010 as an Export Specialist and became an International Business Development Leader two years later. She speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish fluently. 

    “The best part of my job is talking to customers from all over the world and being able to visit with them,” she said.

    Michael Louck has been with Central States Industrial since  2006. Before becoming a Business Development Leader, he was a Customer Service Representative for two years. He graduated from Evangel University and has a background in construction.

    Michael said, “I'm always looking for ways to think outside the box to take care of the customer. I will not give up until I have exhausted all options.”

    He is married with six children that range in ages from three to thirteen. His favorite thing about CSI is the people. He said, “We all work for our own reasons, but for those 8 – 9 hours a day, the CSI team is all working together to take care of our customers.”

    Business Development Leader – Tennessee Valley

    Ginny Mathis, Business Development Leader – Tennessee Valley, has over 29 years in food and dairy supply and engineering industries. She excels at project management and execution. She graduated from Roane State Community College in 1987, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.         

    “I believe in customer service being a priority. It’s not always about making a sale, but about addressing the problem. Sometimes, the best solution is already there in front of the customer. Sometimes, my task is just helping them see that,” she said.

    From 2004 to 2006, Ginny was in a funk band. She said she had a blast traveling and playing fun music with tremendously talented people. An adventurer at heart, she even tried out for American Gladiator in the early 90’s. Now, she enjoys hunting and fly-fishing in her free time.

    “I am really enjoying the camaraderie amongst my coworkers.  People really enjoy their jobs,” she said.

    Melinda Mitchell has been working at Central States Industrial since 1998. She began as an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and was promoted to Accounting Supervisor in 2002. In 2016, she transitioned to Customer Service Manager. Melinda graduated with a degree in Business Accounting from Draughon Business College and became a Certified Bookkeeper in 2007.

    “I am a quick learner and very dedicated. I do what I say I will do,” she said. Melinda loves camping and riding motorcycles with her husband and appreciates the family atmosphere at CSI.

    Chris Bales started working at Central States Industrial in 2012 and became a pump specialist in his department within only a few weeks of being hired. Chris received his degree in Engineering Management from the University of Missouri – Rolla and then pursued various sales roles after his graduation in 2006. In the last six years, Chris’s pump knowledge has expanded, allowing him to troubleshoot and solve problems.

    Chris has a Russian Blue cat named Mithbrennil with his girlfriend of eight years, Katherine. Chris and Katherine are buying a house together, with the goal to renovate the entirety of it.

    Vicki Beasley received her Business certification from Draughons College in 1973. Her experience is extensive; she has been working in the industry for over 36 years. Her journey with Central States Industrial began in 2017 as a Customer Service Representative. Vicki said she has enjoyed every minute working with and helping her customers.

    A self-proclaimed soccer mom, Vicki coached the sport for years. Spending time with her two grandsons is now one of her favorite pastimes. She loves remodeling Victorian homes and considers it a passion of hers.

    Steve Campbell has been in sales his whole life. His experience imparted a number of lessons onto him. He strives to be close to people better than him in some way, because it keeps him working toward greatness. 

    He attended Rose State College and then worked at Crouch Supply for 21 years before joining CSI in 2017 as a Customer Service Representative. By taking on expansive responsibilities, Steve said he was able to gain a deeper understanding of sanitary processing equipment and its function in everyday use.

    He is an ordained minister with a love for Christmas. His favorite part of his job is “all of the smiles that you can hear over the phone and the peaceful atmosphere.”

    Dale Chambers’ time at Central States Industrial encompasses more than a decade. In 2003, he began working at CSI as a Customer Service Representative. He is currently part of a five-person team that focuses on pumps. The pump department assembles pumps, troubleshoots, and makes recommendations.

    “There’s a technical aspect to it. I really enjoy solving a problem for a customer,” Dale said. He said he enjoys using his analytical skills to find the best solution for each unique situation.

    Carrie Davis has been a Customer Service Coordinator at Central States Industrial since 2016. She graduated from Missouri State University and has over 23 years of experience in international logistics. Among other responsibilities,Carrie handles documentation for exports at CSI. She loves dogs, is a hobby photographer, and enjoys travel. She said she appreciates the stability of the company and thinks the people at CSI are great.

    Brock Fossnight graduated from Missouri State University in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Restaurant Administration and a minor in Business. He also attended the University of Kansas, where he studied graphic design. At Central States Industrial, he is a specialist in product recovery and Alfa Laval valves. Brock’s experience has given him a high level of customer understanding.

    Brock is an artist, a cook, and a former Boy Scout rock-climbing director. He loves to mountain bike and travel, with plans to visit Scotland in September. His favorite thing about CSI is the open-door policy. He said, “The fact that our executives care about each and every CSI employee makes me feel happy to work here. I'm honest and loyal to what CSI stands for.”

    Curt Harper has been working at Central States Industrial since 1990. He started in the Inside Sales department and was promoted to Inside Sales Supervisor in 1996. Two years later, he began as the Manager of Inside Sales/Warehouse. In 2005, he started working in Sales. Five years later, he began as a Customer Service Representative.  

    Curt graduated from Missouri State University, formerly known as SMS, in 1973 with a degree in Finance. He was a buyer and inventor planner for Paul Mueller for 16 years before his time at CSI and worked in sales for Flow Smart gasket manufacturing for three years. He has spent a long time in the hygienic process industry and helps processors with whatever they need. He like sports cars and golf. His favorite thing about CSI is “the people I work with, both in the company and outside.” Technically Curt is retired, but he can be found working in the office every morning.

    Laura Rael has been in the sanitary processing industry for a decade, all of that time she accrued working at Central States Industrial. Before joining CSI in 2007, she attended Ozarks Technical College. Laura said she has a passion for customer service, and she has an uncanny ability to escalate and source difficult or long lead times for customers in order to meet their delivery needs. She works closely with mechanical contractors and is a good source for information Behringer hangers. Laura is also an ITT valve specialist at CSI.

    Laura said, "I like the family environment the company has and promotes even as we grow. I appreciate the culture of growth and that learning has been cultivated and continues to expand.  The executive team tries to keep all employees informed, involved, and encourages their participation in nearly all aspects of the company."

    Laura enjoys cooking for those closest to her. She said its how she shows appreciation and love. Her hobbies include trying new recipes and going to the beach.

    Vicky Rhodes first began at Central States Industrial in 2011 as Accounts Receivable. In 2013, she began working in Field Coordination and three years later, transitioned to Purchasing Coordination. In January 2017, she began working in Customer Service. She has over two decades of experience in construction and four years experience working with the field crew at CSI. She currently works closely with mechanical contractors.    

    She cites her approachability and experience as some of her strengths and loves antiques, the outdoors, and her yellow labs, Huck and Gracie. She appreciates the family-like environment at CSI and said, “When Mr. Cook says, ‘Take care of our customers and take care of each other,’ we truly do. We are a caring team.”

    Shane Shade has been a Customer Service Representative at Central States Industrial (CSI) since 2013. He has a wide range of expertise, but specializes in valves. Before Shane came to CSI, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 2001-2009.            

    Shane was recently awarded for his stunning positivity. One of his co-workers said, “Shane always has a great attitude and a smile. His laugh is infectious, in the four years I have worked with Shane, I have never heard him complain.  He is loved by his customers and co-workers alike.” 

    Shane said, “CSI is a very large company, with several employees and locations, but it has the small mom and pop style atmosphere. Everyone is always willing to help. You feel appreciated.”

    Shane has four kids with his wife. They love to be outside and especially enjoy fishing. They just bought a boat, and he said he is looking forward to spending long weekends on the boat at the lake.

    Eric Buchanan P.E. has been at CSI since 2004. He graduated from University Missouri Rolla, currently known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. In his role at CSI, Eric has had responsibilities in both project management (field installation and fabrication) and process engineering. He regularly works with A&E firms and end-users to design and implement sanitary process and CIP systems for the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries.

    Eric has four children with his wife of 14 years, Arien, who also works at CSI. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, coaching his kids, and teaching at his church.

    Arien Buchanan has been an Associate Process Engineer at CSI since 2017. She has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University Of Missouri Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Drury University. In her past, she was a Project Engineer at Custom Metalcraft and Paul Mueller Company.

    Arien said she likes how CSI values their employees and that God is fundamental. She said, “CSI operates first class without and within.”

    Arien has four children with her husband of 14 years, Eric, who also works at CSI. She enjoys working out and cooking for her family.

    Trent Bullock is deeply knowledgeable about liquid process systems, manufacturing, controls, and automation. He has been a Process Engineer at CSI since 2012 and is responsible for designing sanitary process and control systems for food, dairy, and beverage industries. He is focused on providing support and technical expertise to both internal and external customers.

    Trent graduated from University Missouri Rolla, currently known as Missouri University of Science and Technology, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has vast industry experience in controls and automation, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, and OEM equipment development. 

    Trent is not afraid to challenge conventions and is always looking for the best, most efficient way to achieve any goal. He said he believes in continuous improvement, challenging himself, and growing from lessons learned. He enjoys building things—anything from hot rods to arcade machines. As long as it’s new and challenging, he’s happy to work on it.

    Randy Canty has been an Application/Process Engineer at CSI in Fort Worth, TX, since March 2017. Randy worked for Crouch Engineering for 17 years and joined our team when CSI acquired Crouch. He has spent 25 years in the ammonia refrigeration industry. He has a willingness to stay with a project and work with the customer until the job is done and they are happy. 

    He said that at CSI, “Anyone you talk to is willing to help you ... very nice people to work with. Everyone seems to work well with everyone else as a team.”

    Product Specialist - Superalloys

    Yogini Dhopade has three degrees, speaks four languages, and has traveled to ten different countries across the world. In 2006, she received her Bachelor in Technology in Metallurgy and Material Technology Engineering at JNTU Hyderabad, a leading engineering university in India.

    The following year, she moved to the United States to further pursue her career in metallurgy. She attended Missouri State University and gained two degrees: a Masters in Material Science in 2009 and an MBA in Marketing in 2010.

    Yogini began working at CSI in 2011 as Product Manager for Alloys. She oversees all aspects of our Hastelloy® C-22® and AL-6XN® alloy product lines. She has an unmatchable passion for metals and spends her time at CSI managing everything related to corrosion-resistant alloys.

    Gary Smallwood has been an Application/Process Engineer at CSI in Fort Worth, TX, since March 2017 and moved to the Springfield office a few months later in July. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Gary worked for Crouch Engineering for eight years total and joined our team when CSI acquired Crouch. He worked as a Plant Engineer for Western Quality Foods in Utah for 15 years, and he has vast experience in the food, dairy, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. He likes that the ownership is so involved in the business at CSI and enjoys the “high-energy buzz” in the office.

    Ilana Goldberg has extensive international experience. She grew up in Brazil and attended college at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo, where she earned a degree in Business Administration. She went on to earn her Marketing and General Business certification from the University of California, Los Angeles.  She received her MBA in Logistics/Supply Chain and Marketing from Missouri State University.

    She started at CSI in 2010 as an Export Specialist and became an International Business Development Leader two years later. She speaks English, Portuguese, and Spanish fluently. 

    “The best part of my job is talking to customers from all over the world and being able to visit with them,” she said.

    Rachael Sawyer has been working at Central States Industrial as an International Customer Service Representative since June 2016. She has a focus on international relations and exports at CSI. She received her associate's degree from Southeastern Illinois College, before she even graduated high school. She went on to attend Southwest Baptist University, where she graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Intercultural Studies and English Literature in 2016.

    Rachael is originally from Southern Illinois, which she describes as having a lot of cornfields instead of cow pastures. Rachael has a secret love for Latin music and dance, especially the bachata. She lived in Managua, Nicaragua for six months, where she was able to practice and perfect her Spanish skills. She is currently pursuing graduate classes in business and is always looking for opportunities to train and improve on the job. She is newly married and celebrated with a summer wedding.

    Rachael said, “I like that everyone is pretty flexible and down to earth. Everyone seems to be working to make others' jobs easier so that our customers always get the best experience. Working at CSI has been a blessing for me, and I am very grateful for everything that CSI has taught me.”

    One of CSI's most seasoned employees, Amanda has been with the company since 2001. She began at CSI as a marketing intern, while completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Evangel University. Over the years, she has held various roles and has gradually worked her way up to the role of Creative Director. 

    Amanda says, "The responsibility of representing CSI to the outside world is both challenging and rewarding. From our industry-leading website to catalogs and brochures, from trade show graphics to video productions, my team works every day to portray this company as the creative and innovative leader that we are."

    Michele Holt has been Director of Finance for CSI since 2016. Before joining CSI, she spent 14 years as the Controller for Johnston Companies, an industrial supply distributor. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Southwest Missouri State University in 1992 and has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1994.        

    “I like the work atmosphere at CSI.  It’s a larger company, yet everyone knows how to work together as a team,” she said.          

    Michele enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.  She grew up on a farm near Springfield and still enjoys Sunday 4-wheeler rides, gardening and spending time outdoors.

    Beth Ipock started at Central States when the company was still in its infancy, less than two decades old, as a Receptionist and Accounts Receivable in 1990. Two years later, she worked as Customer Service for Mechanical Contractors. She also held positions as Fabrication Coordinator, Field Coordinator, Training Manager, HR Manager, Customer Service Manager, Vice President of Support Systems, and most recently, Executive Strategist.

    She attended Oklahoma Baptist University and William Jewell College. She earned the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) from HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) and received her Training Certificate from Management Development Institute at Missouri State University.
