Corrosion Seminar Speakers
Ken Kimbrel is Vice President of UltraClean Electropolish, Inc. He is responsible for technical publications, sales, marketing, process and material evaluation in corrosive environments. He attended Tulsa Community College and has an extensive background in engineering, equipment manufacturing, and is a NACE International Board Certified Corrosion Technician.
Ken is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and serves as chairman of the ASME-BPE sub-committee on Metallic Materials of Construction. He is also a member of the ASME-BPE sub-committees on Accreditation—the Main committee and Executive committee. He is a member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), ASM International, the International Metallographic Society (IMS), and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
Dr. Hira Ahluwalia
is President
of Material Selection Resources Inc. (MSR), a
materials engineering and corrosion consulting organization based in New Jersey.
MSR serves the chemical, pharmaceutical, fabrication and metal industries. Active
participation in Industry organizations ensures that MSR provides their clients with the best, new and novel methodologies to use materials successfully.
Dr. Ahluwalia has extensive experience in material selection, corrosion testing, metallurgy, and failure analysis, and has published numerous technical papers.
He has a Ph.D. in materials and corrosion engineering from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. A 15-year ASM and NACE member, Ahluwalia is a Program Coordinator of the NACE Technical Coordination Committee and is a member of the Annual Conference Program Committee. He is also a consultant for Nickel Development Institute (NiDi) and Materials Technology Institute (MTI).

Ken serves NACE as a member of Specific Technology Group 39- Material Applications; Technology Exchange Group 114X- Applications of Duplex and Ferritic Stainless Steel; and, Technology Exchange Group 116X- Austenitic Alloy applications. He also serves as vice-chair of NACE Technology Exchange Group- Material Issues in High Purity and Sanitary Applications.
Keith Raney is President of UltraClean Electropolish, Inc. which specializes in onsite or “in situ” electropolishing throughout North America. Keith has been a consultant to industry where he has designed, built, and trained end users on custom systems for electropolishing vessels, medical implants, high purity tubing, valves, fittings, weapons, and aerospace hardware.
Mr. Raney has had electropolish experience in all facets of the process that he has been actively involved in since 1975. Throughout the years Keith has developed many of the processes utilized in the industry, and supervised electropolishing equipment and materials for the semi-conductor, petrochemical, nuclear, automotive, aerospace, medical, and bio-pharmaceutical industries.
Keith is a member of ISPE, NACE, and ASME, where he has been an active participant since 2002 in the BPE Standard.
